IKEAnism, 2007, 30 x 30 cm, stencil graffiti on canvas
This piece is a personalised reproduction of the Audrey Hepburn print available at IKEA stores around the world. The main idea was to take this image and change its message: the original IKEA product screams "I'm beautiful, I'm pretty, I'm glamorous, I'm clean, I'm perfect, and I would look great on your wall, too." The personalised version represents something completely different. Since when is graffiti glamorous? Is it supposed to be? No. Failure is accepted. Failure is edgy. Nothing has to be as clean and "perfect" as an IKEA canvas. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
